What are “Cloud Services?” and “Cloud Computing?” Whenever we talk about these phrases, we are referring to the ability to provide different computer services through the Internet (aka “The Cloud”) rather than having to rely on local hardware to store or access information. A good example of this would be taking a photo on a mobile device and saving it on either Google Photos or iCloud so that you could have access to that photo on multiple devices.
In today’s business environment, Cloud Computing is quickly becoming the new mainstream technology that is keeping a company interconnected and current with modern technology. Using Cloud Services has made it possible for companies to stay up to date with their IT services via the Internet rather than waiting for a technician to come on-site. On top of this businesses that are using Cloud Services are noticing a drastic improvement in efficiency with their companies’ day-to-day operations because of the ease of use that this service provides.
The 3 Types Of Cloud Services
Within Cloud Services there are 3 different types which include software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
- SaaS: Involves giving people access to software applications over the internet. Some examples include Emails, Salesforce, Dropbox, and Google Workspace.
- PaaS: Consists of providing a platform for developers to build and deploy applications without needing to worry about managing the underlying infrastructure. Examples of PaaS are Google App Engine, Heroku, and Microsoft Azure App Service.
- IaaS: Gives people access to their computer servers, storage, and other networking resources through the internet. A few examples of this would be Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

As mentioned before, companies that use Cloud Services significantly benefit from them. These different key benefits include:
